ALLIANCE PARTNER PROGRAMME · UKBY INVITATION · 6 TO 10 ACTIVE PARTNERS

You see the operational ceiling before your clients can name it.

A referral relationship for accountants, business coaches, and trusted advisers who recognise the structural problem in their clients' businesses, inconsistency, founder dependency, growth stalling for reasons that aren't strategic. When the operational side becomes the ceiling, you should have someone credible to call.

See how it works

A 30-minute conversation. Curated relationships only.

"The Ops Engine maps how your business operates and builds the systems to keep it running consistently, without depending on the people who hold it all in their heads."

This is the sentence your clients need to hear. One sentence creates enough curiosity for a conversation. Ben takes it from there.

Why this works

A natural referral, built on relationships that already exist.

The professional advisers who refer most naturally are not joining a referral scheme. They are noticing a pattern in their existing client base: businesses with good people, good advice, and structural problems that their own services cannot touch.

/ 01

Outside your professional remit

That is what The Ops Engine addresses. The work sits entirely outside your professional remit: no overlap, no competition. Your credibility with the client does the work. A trusted introduction is all that is needed.

/ 02

You first see the ceiling

When you see the operational ceiling in a client's numbers, in their founder's frustration, in the questions they keep asking, that is the moment.

/ 03

A genuine two-way relationship

Reciprocal referrals when our clients need what you provide: accounting, coaching, legal, or another professional service. We make the introduction without being asked.

Who refers

Two partner types, both see what we address.

The Ops Engine does not replace your advisory relationship. It strengthens your client's ability to execute consistently on the guidance you already provide.

Partner profile 01

Accountants & fractional finance

When a client's numbers are inconsistent month to month, the cause is often operational before it is financial. Processes that vary between team members, invoicing that depends on individual memory, management information that relies on data nobody has properly structured, these show up in your work before they surface anywhere else.

Why it matters

Operational clarity makes your advice more actionable and your clients better prepared.

/ Specific benefits to your practice

  • Consistent processes improve invoicing accuracy and cash-flow predictability.
  • Documented systems reduce month-end reconciliation time.
  • Management information improves when the underlying operations do.
  • Clients arrive at year-end better prepared, and less dependent on you to interpret their own business.
/ Reciprocal opportunity

We refer to accountant and fractional finance partners when a Blueprint reveals an inadequate finance function, when new operational reporting needs a capable accounting partner, or when a prospect needs financial management before our work would be effective.

Partner profile 02

Business coaches & consultants

Strategic clarity without operational infrastructure produces frustration. Founders implement guidance inconsistently, revert to familiar habits, and struggle to create space for the leadership work you are developing in them.

Why it matters

Operational systems give your strategic work somewhere to land.

/ Specific benefits to your practice

  • Founders implement guidance more consistently when processes support it.
  • Removes the operational ceiling that limits leadership growth.
  • Clients make faster progress when the infrastructure matches their ambitions.
  • The engagement is designed to end, capability is transferred to the client's own team, not retained externally.
/ Reciprocal opportunity

We refer to coach and consultant partners when a Blueprint or retainer reveals that founder capacity or leadership behaviours are constraining operational progress, when strategic direction sits beyond our remit, or when a prospect is primarily dealing with a leadership rather than structural problem.

The qualifying question

"Is this person frustrated that their business depends too heavily on them or a handful of key people, and do they have the appetite to do something structural about it?"

If the answer is yes, the introduction is worth making. You do not need to explain the engagement. One sentence is enough. Ben will take it from there.

When to think of us

The right moment is usually in the middle of another conversation.

The pattern is recognisable once you have seen it. A brief note after the conversation, "I know someone who has seen this before", is enough. The rest follows from there.

The founder mentions they cannot take a holiday without the phone going. A client describes hiring more people but feeling no less stretched. Someone says their best person might leave and they are not sure what that would mean. A year-end conversation reveals that the numbers are inconsistent in ways the founder cannot fully explain.

These are not general business complaints. They are specific signals of a structural problem, one that The Ops Engine is designed to address.

  • Phrases to listen for
  • "Everything still comes through me."
  • "We've hired more people but I'm just as busy."
  • "We bought software but nothing really changed."
  • "If [name] left, we'd be in real trouble."
  • "I can't step back without problems appearing."
The ideal referral

What a well-fitted introduction looks like.

The pattern is consistent. The right client for this engagement is a founder or owner-manager who:

/ 01
Cannot step back despite having what looks like a capable team.
/ 02
Watches the same problems recur despite genuine effort to fix them.
/ 03
Is growing, but growth is creating friction rather than capacity.
/ 04
Has operational knowledge sitting in people rather than systems.
/ 05
Is ready to invest in solving the problem structurally, not trying another tool.

How a referral works

Low friction for you. Professionally managed from the point of introduction.

01

No overlap with your services

The Ops Engine does not do accounting, coaching, legal, or HR work. The engagement sits entirely outside your professional remit, no competition, no encroachment.

Boundary
02

No hard sell

The clarity call is a diagnostic conversation, not a sales pitch. If the fit is not right, Ben will say so. Your client will never feel pressured.

Posture
03

Your client relationship is protected

Once an introduction is made, the conversation is handled professionally. You are copied on the initial response, then removed from the thread.

Etiquette
04

You stay informed

A brief note when the clarity call is arranged, and again when the outcome is known, whether it converts or not. Ben responds to introductions within 24 hours.

Reporting
05

The first step is paid and bounded

The Operations Blueprint is a scoped, paid piece of work with a clear deliverable. Your client knows exactly what they are committing to. There is no open-ended discovery.

Commitment
The commercial model

Simple, professional, proportionate.

Referrals that convert to a retainer engagement are recognised with a straightforward referral fee, paid monthly for the duration of the engagement, with no administration required from you.

Simple, professional, proportionate

The arrangement is covered fully in the briefing pack. We also refer back: when a client would benefit from what you provide, we make the introduction without being asked.

There is no portal, no tracking system, and no formal agreement required. It runs on professional trust and a shared commitment to quality introductions on both sides.

Programme principle

Quality over volume.

The programme has a maximum of six to ten alliance partners, enough to build genuine referral relationships, not enough to become a mechanism. This is an invitation-only arrangement. Partners are selected because the fit is right: the right client base, the right professional ethos, and the right interest in a two-way relationship. We refer back when a client would benefit from what a partner provides, without being asked.

6–10/ ACTIVE PARTNERS
The relationship rhythm

A relationship, not a sign-up form.

There is no application portal. No onboarding sequence. No dashboard to log into. When you are ready to make an introduction, you send an email or make a call. Ben responds within 24 hours. You are kept informed of the outcome. That is the full extent of the administration.

The programme works because the partners in it know their clients well, recognise the right moment, and trust that the introduction will be handled professionally. That trust is the mechanism. Everything else follows from it.

From the fieldMay 2026

The most common pattern we see at the start of an engagement: the founder can describe every problem in the business with precision, and has tried several times to fix most of them. What is almost never in place is a single documented process they could hand to a new team member on day one.

That gap is where most of the structural friction lives. It is also where most of the improvements are fastest to produce.
